Summer Nilsson is a STORYTELLER. She is also a bestselling author, award-winning creator, founder, board member, and advisor. With a career spanning over two decades, having built and sold a national media firm with clients including Food Network Magazine, People, and ELLE, Summer is recognized for building omni-channel ecosystems and partnerships that change narratives.
Through her own consultancy firm, NIIS Corp, and as a member of THE BOARD, Summer advises corporations and startups on content and brand strategy, creative marketing solutions, brand identity, partnerships, purpose alignment, and developing overarching ecosystems.
Summer has worked with startups and Fortune 100 corporations, including Walmart, Dell, Kendra Scott, and American Express, to build stories, identify industry white space, maximize revenue, launch and grow brands, and develop purpose-driven partnerships.
Summer previously co-founded a national media sales and marketing firm with offices in Dallas, Boston, Detroit, and Atlanta, serving Meredith, Hearst, Clique Brands, Group Nine, etc. Summer built the firm to provide a single point of contact for national publishers to maximize market revenue, reverse engineer content, establish tentpole programming, leverage celebrity talent, monetize merchandising, integrate co-op initiatives, and facilitate B2B partnerships.
Summer is the founder of Loodor, an award-winning entertainment brand. Through Loodor Publishing, Loodor distributes the Loodor Tales Series, a bestselling book series that targets tweens and teens with storylines to support mental health. The fantasy series includes The Land of the Pines, The Land of the Strays, and The Land of the Trade. The fourth book is scheduled for release in 2026.
Inspired by the book series, Loodor developed a multi-media educational platform that includes "HOO Are You?" Tours and the Loodor Learns Curriculum. The Loodor Learns Curriculum is based on years of research, data, and real conversations to deliver Classroom Guides, Teacher Guides, and teacher and student video tutorials.
Loodor is a national TIPS approved vendor for speaking programs, educational and academic goods and services for K-12 (public, private, and charter schools), hospitals, government, and non-profit organizations.
